Vincenzo Palmacci

Vincenzo Palmacci is a PhD student in the COMP3D group. After earning a BSc degree in Industrial Chemistry at the University of Bologna in 2018, he continued his career in Bologna, pursuing a MSc degree in Bioinformatics. In 2020 he successfully completed his MSc studies with a thesis titled: "Shape classification of biological macromolecules from Small Angle X-ray Scattering data by feature selection in a Deep Learning framework", result of his work conducted at the EMBL-Hamburg outstation. Currently, he is developing new Machine Learning methods for the identification of compounds likely to interfere with High Throughput Screening essays, in a joint research project of the University of Vienna and Bayer (Berlin, Germany). His research is  part of the EU-funded MSCA Innovative Training Network  "Advanced Machine Learning for Innovative Drug Discovery (AIDD)
