Ioannis Papantonis

Ioannis Papantonis is a postdoctoral researcher in the COMP3D group. He earned his PhD in Informatics from the University of Edinburgh, where he studied model transparency and explainability in probabilistic models. After completing his doctoral studies, he held a postdoctoral position at the same institution, focusing on designing platforms for interactive monitoring of AI systems in healthcare applications. He holds an MSc in Data Science from the Athens University of Economics and Business, and a BSc in Mathematics from the University of Athens. His research interests include Explainable AI, Human-Computer Interaction, Probabilistic Models, and Causality, with a focus on making machine learning systems more interpretable and trustworthy in high-stakes domains.
